Travel Report England
Monday
On Monday morning we started our trip to England. After 10 hours we arrived in Calais, we had 3 passport controls and then we could go on the ferry. After two more hours on the ferry we arrived in Dover. From there we drove again two hours to Eastbourne. After 14 hours of driving we arrived in Eastbourne, where our host families were waiting for us. Then we grabbed our suitcases and got out of the bus where our families waited for us. Then we got to know our host families and they drove home with us. Our host showed us all the things that we had to know and then we just emptied our suitcases and went to bed.
Tuesday
On Tuesday morning we got up at 7.30 in the morning and got ready for the day. Our host had prepared breakfast and lunchboxes for the day (because she already was at work). At 8.45 our host picked us up and drove us to the J.M. bus stop. At 9.00 the bus picked us up and we drove to Eastbourne. We went to Beachy Head and walked down to the town. After this we visited the pier in Eastbourne and then we had time for ourselves. After 5 hours in Eastbourne we drove back and walked home. Then we just had dinner, a shower and went to bed.
Wednesday
Today we had to wake up earlier as usual because we went to London and we had to be at the bus stop at 7:30 in the morning. We got dressed, ate breakfast and then walked to the bus stop. It was the first time walking alone to the bus stop so that was pretty exciting. We drove for about 2 hours and then got on a bus boat where we spent another hour. Finally we arrived in London and the first thing we saw was Tower Bridge. It was amazing. We also went by Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly Circus. In addition we were also able to go on the London Eye. Afterwards we had time for ourselves in the city which we spent with eating and walking around. When we finally arrived back at our host families at about 11 o´clock we all were very tired and went to sleep.
Thursday
We woke up at 7:30 in the morning, got dressed, had breakfast and then walked to the bus stop. Everything as usual. That day we visited Brighton. At first we went to the Royal Pavillion, which was absolutely beautiful and then we had about 3 hours to do what we wanted to do. Most of the students went to the big mall. After that we visited another castle – the Arundel Castle in Arundel. Then we drove back home and we ate with our host and talked about lots of things. Sadly we also had to pack our suitcases because it was our last day in England.
Friday
On our last day of the trip we decided to wake up earlier so that we had enough time to say goodbye to our host because she was so great to us. Our host drove us to the bus stop and at 9:00 o´clock. We were all in the bus ready for a long trip back to Germany. This time the passport controls weren´t that strict. The travelling was boring sometimes. At about midnight we arrived in Schwarzach where our parents were waiting for us.

England trip 2023
On 17th April we drove to England at 6.30 am and arrived there at 9.30 pm. When we arrived in Eastbourne, we were divided into host families. Our host family consisted of Vikki the host mother and her children and a small dog. After about 10-15 minutes we were at the house, she showed us the different rooms. The next day we had to be at our bus stop Victoria Drive at 9.00 am so that the bus could pick us up. When everyone was picked up, Sharon our tourist guide, told us something about the city and in the meantime, we drove to Beachy Head. From there we walked all the way down to Eastbourne. After that we could split up to explore the city to do the rally or to go shopping. At 5.30 pm we were picked up by the bus and taken back to the bus stop. In the evening we ate something in the host families and were able to pass the time there. We had a long day on Wednesday. We had to be at the bus stop at 7.30 am. When we were picked up after a long time, we drove two hours to London. At the O2-arena we had to take the boat for about an hour to get to downtown London. In the city centre we looked at sights like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus and a lot more. After that we had some free time and could explore London. From our meeting point we walked to the London Eye and did a lap with it. We went back by boat and walked to the bus. In the evening we made a short stop at Mc Donald’s which the host family was not very happy about because we were a bit late. On Thursday we took the bus to Brighton. Once there we visited the Royal Pavillion and viewed its rooms which were inspired by different countries. After that we had time for us and were able to walk around Brighton. When we were back on the bus, we drove to Arundel and visited Arundel Castle. Then we drove back to our host families. On Friday we had to get to the meeting point at 8.45 am so that we could leave at 9.00 am and go back home.
